Is it Possible To Take the Mark and Avoid Fire and Brimstone?

“And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” Revelation 14:8-12 KJV.

I have heard it said many times that whoever shall receive the mark of the beast is doomed to the Lake of Fire. However, if one reads these verses, it is clear that those who both take the mark AND worship the beast and its image are the ones who “drink of the wine of the wrath of God.” Therefore, it appears from these passages that it might be possible to receive the mark, but avoid Hell by not worshiping the Beast or its image.

Many people believe that taking the mark of the Beast and worship of the Beast are one in the same and that taking the mark signifies worship of the Beast.  I think that might be right in cases where the mark is taken voluntarily by people who would be complicit with what the Beast system represents, but it has been suggested that people will be marked clandestinely or that the mark will be forced onto people through some sort of government mandate.  If that is true, then receiving the mark would not be a voluntary act.  Therefore, it would have nothing to do with the willingness to bow down and worship the Beast or its image.

Revelation 13:15-17 KJV states the following:

“And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

This passage makes it clear that he “causeth all” to receive the mark.  This would seem to suggest that everyone is going to be getting it, except those who he causes to be killed for not worshiping him.  Thus, this would suggest that there is a possibility that people will receive the mark, yet there are those who will not bow down before the Beast or its image.

Some people believe that receiving the mark of the beast means that you are automatically slated for hell.  This is a view that is pushed quite often by many of the Christian groups who concern themselves with the mark of the Beast.  However, I think that this view may be part of the great deception, because if things continue to converge as they are, and it is true that this Beast system and its mark is going to be foisted upon the people forcibly through something like socialized medicine, cashless currency, and the need for biometric identification to prevent the identity theft that they allow, then it won’t be purely a matter of choice.  Wouldn’t the entity that is trying to drag as many people down as possible want those who were forcibly given the mark to think that everything was over for them, so that they would be more likely to complete the second requirement which is to bow down and worship this Beast?

If a person is walking down the street and takes a bullet to the head from a sniper rifle, is that free will?  If a person is poisoned at a restaurant without their knowledge, is that free will?  If a government breaks down people’s doors forces them into camps and has them chipped, would that be free will as well?  There are certain times when a person’s free will is hindered by those who use force and trickery to harm.  Receiving the mark could potentially be one of those cases.  If so, then I would think that one should not worship or bow down to the Beast or its image under any circumstances.

Bottom line, if in the future one finds oneself marked in the manner described in The Book of Revelation, one should not automatically assume that they are doomed and still refuse to bow down and worship the Beast and its image.
